Cracking down on Counterfeit Bearings
The Bearing Specialists Association was founded in 1966, which combined the anti-friction Bearing Sales Association with the Bearing Sales Association. Since the foundation of this association, it had developed into an authoritative bearing distributor which was at the top level of the international market. The main products include ball bearings, roller bearings and other anti-friction bearings. The members of the Bearing Specialists Association and some bearing manufacturers work together and sort out some training materials. The supplementary edition and the revised edition all shows that the science and technology in the industries gain much progresses. Additionally, the Bearing Specialists Association tries its best to develop in other related fields. It tries to create more profits for its members.
Considering the suggestion of the distributors and the manufacturers of the BSA, board of directors of this association approved a cooperation programme which is made to crack down on counterfeit bearings. This programme is from American Bearing Manufacturers Association. According to statistics, there are about six hundred billion $ value of the counterfeit bearings annually. That is to say, these counterfeit products bring much loss to the American enterprises.
According to this cooperation programme, the Bearing Specialists Association will support the policies proposed by the World Bearing Association. Meanwhile, it will publicize these policies to the end users. Except for these strategies, the BSA will also publicize the ten reasons about why customers should buy bearings from the authorized distributors. It also encourages the association members and the end users to share the information together. Besides, the BSA agrees to release the organization announcement and information about how to crack down on counterfeit products which includes criticizing the participation in supplying the counterfeit bearings, supporting the action made by the American Bearing Manufacturers Association and the World Bearing Association, and sharing the information with the association members.
The board of directors will reconsider membership qualifications if the association members are proved to buy or sell the counterfeit bearings. Through years of development, the BSA system of cracking down on counterfeit bearings is rather complete. Actually, early in the 2007, the BSA had proposed the ten reasons about buying bearings from the authorized distributors. This can help the end users realize the value of the authorized distributors.
At present, there are one hundred members who are authorized by the manufacturers to sell all kinds of ball bearings, roller bearings and anti-friction bearings. All in all, the Bearing Specialists Association is a good platform which can improve the sharing of the knowledge and can help the authorized distributors increase the sales volume.
