Best $20 I ever spent!

For the $19.97 purchase price this little machine does the job and does it well. Ok, it is short for my (used to be 6 foot) frame and causes me backaches but the majority of Americans are below 5'9". Those who are tall with disabilities - think about doing the job in very short runs. 

I chose not to buy the refills as two of them are the price of the machine. I am still on my first reel with a few feet left to go. I doubt that one reel will go a full season. I am able to trim around the mailbox, up and at the bottom of fences and close to the house. This probably explains why 1 reel won't survive a season - I go really close and cut thick weeds, stalks and growth up and down my chain link fence. 

One feature I especially like is the cord holder. Squeeze a button in the handle, fold over the electric cord and stuff it in the handle cavity. Releasee the button and you will not be pulling out the electric cord as you work. 

2 year warranty too if I remember correctly. For a corded weed wacker, this has plenty of power. Liteweight, but stubby. The plastic body can take a drop ok. It's fallen over in my shed with no problem. 

I should probably write another review after I refill the cord from the 500' spool I purchased at the same time. If you want to hold off until then, fine - but for less than 20 bucks - you'll miss out on a lot of weed wacking. Why is that the weeds grow twice as high and twice as fast as the grass? Heck, I've used this to cut the grass is small spaces instead of dragging out the lawn mower. One B&D product that I actually recommend and tell my neighbor every time I'm using it - best twenty bucks I've ever spent.

My lady deserved two of these.....

I do not like trimming. Fortunately, my wife does. For the past few years she has "made do" with her old Black & Decker ST1000 
9 inch trimmer and it became almost impossible to find one for 
replacement. 

It seems that the usual places weren't handling the smaller, easier unit that she liked so well because of the way it fit in 
her grip and the ease of operation she had become used to.... 

I told her I would find one for her that day, and lo and behold, 
I found one within minutes at Amazon.Com....Did I make my wife 
happy? You bet...and when I told her the price...she said "Order 
two of them" and so I did, qualifying for free shipping as well. 

End of story? Not quite...she asked me just the other day if I 
would order a few more to have in reserve. I'll have to give her 
my answer real soon. It was reall a GREAT BUY!

Good Deal - Lightweight

I needed a trimmer that could clean up a fence line of about 60' and clean up around a few landscaping objects. This trimmer has fit the bill and at a great price. There is nothing fancy about this trimmer, but it does what it is supposed to do. It is also very light weight. All that said, I won't be surprised if I need to replace this item after a couple of seasons. But if and when I do need to replace it, I'll buy the same one. At the current price it's practically a disposable.

Works fine for small jobs.

I needed something to trim the edges around my small back lawn. I couldn't get the edges with my mower because of the cement retaining wall. This little trimmer works great for that. Just one tip for use: you need to let the motor rev to full speed (takes about 3-4 seconds) before you start cutting, or it will get bogged down and act like it can't cut.

Does a decent job for a lightweight trimmer. Easy to use & small enough to get around in tight areas. String bump advancer works perfectly & the cord holder notch on the back of the handle helps keep the cord from pulling out too often. Mine came in black.

Great on a small yard

For small stuff this thing is perfect. If you have a big yard or 2 foot weeds you are trying to cut down, don't bother with this. However if you're like me and have a smallish yard and just need to get the corners it's a great little trimmer at a great price.
