bass fisherman(line question)?
so im going for bass at this small lake by my house and i was just wondering if 4lb test(mono) would be strong enough?
the biggest they get is 5 pounds and there is no underwater structure(trees, stumps, exc) just moss
so if my drag is set right and everything and i tire the fish out before i reel it in will that be good enough?
generally speaking, in a pond clear of structure and playing them with your drag set right, you should have little problem.
unless one gets buried in the moss you speak of. you might get a 5lb fish and have to pull it out with an additional 5 or 10lb of moss.
l use 8lb myself on a BC reel for most bass fishing. l have few snags but some moss to pull them through also.
