Fishing, One of America's great pastimes
Fishing, one of America's great past times that the whole family can enjoy. It is a way for all to put worries behind them and get out and enjoy some of natures finest. Streams, ponds and lakes are plentiful with fish of various species and sizes. Trout, bass and walleye are just some of the freshwater favorites to catch.
Rods and reels are the real guts of fishing. There are many different types of rods and reels available and it depends on the style of fishing you prefer as to what you'll need. One of the most common reels used today is the spinning reel, it;s versatility and ease of use makes it a great choice for all applications on the water. The spinning reel can be used by all ages and fits most rods manufactured. Rods come in many lengths and come in one, two or up to four or more pieces. Most are sized by weight, ultra lite for smaller fish and ease of packing and heavier weights for your larger fish.
There is plenty of gear offered in the marketplace to help you catch the biggest and most but really all you need is a rod, line, hook and some patience. If your new to the sport then you do want to be spending a lot of money, after all there's no guarantee when it comes to fishing and rarely does spending more equate catching bigger fish. If you like to be out on the water and don't want to spend the big money for a large boat then you should try a float tube. They are light, easy to transport and inflate in just a matter of minutes. They're still reasonably priced and some models offer a carrying case to help you pack into your favorite area. Again they inflate in a matter of minutes and set up is easy. You can use paddles, or use a small battery and trolling motor to get you around on the water. Just sit back in the comfortable chair and relax. Both the float tubes and pontoon boats come with storage pockets for your gear and most have rod holders to keep them safe.
