drum reels .?
i'm building several rainshadow 1508 blanks to use for drum in the surf.
there are several reels i'm considering but whats the best one for casting 8oz+bait and can cast 90+ yards with 17lb suffix tritanium line
daiwa saltiga surf 30
daiwa saltist 30
avet sx
daiwa sealine x 30
penn 525mag or gs
Abu 6500C3CT Blue Yonder
abu 6500CS Custom HS Rocket
which of these reels would be the best for surf casting. are there any reels i didn't mention that would be good
i acidentally put the wrong blank in. it's a lamiglas 1502 heaver
All of these reels would work really well with what you are targeting.
Definitely use a top shot of 50lb mono if you haven't already thought of it.
I would stick with the sea-line or sx for the surf but that is my preference.
