Penn Leveline 350 reel.?
I just bought this old Penn reel with this funny levelwind system. Anyone of you have any experience with it whatsoever? Thanks and tight lines!
"The worst day fishing is better than the best day at work."
l don't think l would use a 350 for tuna or tarpon but for just a good workhorse bottom fishing reel, it is very good. the levelwind system on that reel is exceptionally simple and effective.
USA reels is now finally copying it on one of their bass casting reels.
it gives you an absolutely free freespool without having to run an extra gear for the levelwind guide. the line also doesn't have to go across the spool at an angle during a cast as it does with most baitcasters.
this would be an excellent find for trolling the great lakes for salmon. or salmon anywhere for that matter.
halibut, stripers, reds, this reel will handle most fish.
oh... l have two of these. hard to find.
