Wind Power Electricity - Wind Generated Power For Your Home
In planning for future energy needs, many governments have been experimenting with wind farms. Wind farms are maintained on land and offshore. While onshore wind farms have been around for some time, offshore wind farms are relatively new. The largest one is off the shore of Scotland. California has had wind farms in its central valley for more than a few decades. The wind energy made there is fed into the public grid as an energy supplement.
The shelved sea floor off the shores of the United Kingdom is perfect for building these massive wind turbines. In the United States, ideal offshore placements are limited. The Pacific coast for example, has too many offshore canyons and deep drop offs.
Onshore wind farms are beneficial to landowners in the form of tax benefits and job development, not to mention a great source of income. Many parts of the country have more than enough consistent wind to supply landowners and their community with electricity.
Wind power energy is capable of producing more electricity than previously believed possible. Wind generated power is only part of the solution to the growing energy needs. More and more people are making investments in small wind turbines to power homes, schools and businesses.
As alternative energy concepts become more popular, so does government support. Government loans, tax rebates and credits will become even more favorable to anyone who will convert to an alternative energy source such as wind energy. Keep in mind that the homeowner or small business owner will do best to acquire a small wind turbine on their own. Don't wait to get help from the power companies. Although with the growing interest in wind energy, the power companies will take more responsibility to public demand.
