Is it possible to play super 8 mm film through an 8 mm projector?

I have the adaptors for the reels. They fit fine. The film does not feed. It does not grab to be threaded. Seems not wide enough.Is it possible to do something differntly to make it work on super 8 mm film?

No - the socket holes are different and you will either jam the projector or ruin the film.
