Choose between Abu Garcia Revo Toro and STX baitcasting reel?
I'm in dilemma now, should I choose Toro or STX? STX looks small but the magnet is sensitive to salt water while the Toro can take the abuse. Most of the time I will use it for casting and doing it in salt/freshwater casting. Toro seems to be mostly for inshore with live bait and STX for normal casting. Toro is a bit bigger though, I think my hands should be able to fit in. Any comments?
Well the Toro is a low gear ratio reel (4.6:1) that seems to be geared more toward crankbaits and the STX has 2 speeds available a 6.4:1 and a 7.1:1. You would need to clean both after saltwater use. The Revo Inshore would probably fit you needs more, It can handle saltwater and fresh and can easily go back from the 2. It has a gear ratio of 6.4:1 and price wise is right between the STX and Toro.
