Really good quality rod/reel combo?
I hvae lived in Florida for 4 yrs and I'm starting to get really serious about my fishing. At first, I went down to Wal-Mart and purchased a $20 Shakespeare Tiger spinning combo and has lasted this long. My question is, what is a very good quality rod/reel combo I can get about $100 (more or less is OK); Penn, Abu Garcia, Daiwa, Shimano, any of these or suggestions?
Get the best you can afford.If you are looking at inshore,Shimano Stradics are OK(Lots of service issues)Penn SS series,Quantum Catalyst,Daiwa Tierra,and Fin-Nor Ahabs are all decent reels.You can normally find all of these in combos at Gander Mountain,Bass Pro Shops,Boaters World etc.Look at many and figure out what you will be targeting and find the setup that is right for YOU.
