Who Monitors Excise and Customs Related Issues in India?

Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is a government body in India that takes care of all the import and export activities in terms of enforcing rules and regulations for importing and exporting of various goods.

The organization helps shipping companies and freight forwarders in customs clearance activity after imposing the legal customs duties for their consignments. Custom clearance is an important part of international trading and every freight forwarder has to undergo the same in order to get its consignments approved from CBEC. Depending upon the nature and amount of the products, which are being imported or exported, the government agency impose some taxes, which are known as customs duties on their consignments. Government has built customs houses at every sea port and air port and it is necessary for both an individual and organization to get all the products that are being transported in or out of the country approved by the concerned authorities.

Before it, all the necessary documents are prepared and submitted to government customs agents. According to Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) (www.cbec.gov.in)
