why doesnt this work?
So my dad bought two pairs of shimano dura ace 7850 sl rims that are both rear one for him and one for me. So it didn't come with the cassette so i figured well lets just buy one so we go to performance bicycle and ask for 9 speed and they say it doesn't fit and they say they dont know what kind of cassette would fit. So right next door is bicycle discovery and ask if they have a cassette that would fit it and they try a Sram 9 speed cassette and it doesn't fit. So the guy says it probably a Campagnolo that would fit so then we go to surf city cyclery around the corner and the mechanic say it's a dura ace hub and not campagnolo so we ask for a ultegra 9 speed cassette and it doesn't fit and he tells us that its a ten speed but shouldn't it be compatible with other cassettes like 8 or 9?
The Dura-ace 7850 are 8-9-10 spd Shimano/SRAM cassette compatible. How do they not fit, will they just not go on the hub or is it they will not tighten correctly?
