You don't have to agree on everything. But it is important to acknowledge and respect each others' feelings and desires. If you are in a relationship where you are being controlled, then you need to shift the power dynamic. That doesn't mean you start controlling him like a freak.
You have every right to think about yourself,your goals,your happiness. It is okay to say "NO".You have to be reasonable when it comes to his demands. If you think that he will love you more because you are sacrificing your desires, you are sadly mistaken.
The key to a successful relationship is equal share of joy and sorrow. Remember that he will be happy ONLY if YOU are HAPPY.
