Which Green Veggies Would Be Best To Eat To Maintain Health?
Dark green veggies, or just greens are commonly discussed when talking about 'health' and becoming 'healthy'. Health professionals and our parents have been known for telling us to 'consume additional greens'.
Truth be told... humans really need more green leafy vegetables in their diets than they probably realize.
And, people will probably be required to eat a lot more veggie salads than they likely desire (and have the time to prepare) to have the optimal green leafy vegetables that are recommended by the natural health professionals.
Furthermore the greens should be masticated down to virtually nothing prior to swallowing to really be assimilated by our bodies. When the healthful green veggies aren't digested appropriately, don't expect them to be assimilated. Assimilation is about the nutrients being brought into the blood stream and utilized by the body.
Also, if the greens are cooked, plenty of the vitamins and enzymes (if not all) will be cooked away. Therefore.. consuming green leafy vegetables in the raw form is suggested by raw food eaters as well as other natural health experts. But, uncooked green vegetables aren't really all that palatable.
But we have a solution. There really is an easy method to get a lot of uncooked greens in your daily diet and actually have them taste very good. Also, this solution allows the body to assimilate the green vegetables appropriately...
..I'll go to that, but first, let me answer the question... what green veggies are better to add to our daily diets to contribute to health?
The short response is.. every one of them!
But of course, a handful will have greater nutritional benefit than others, dinosaur kale as one of the most nutritionally dense (meaning lots of healthy benefits).
The caveat... don't consume the exact same green vegetable each and every day for months at a time. Switch it around a bit.
Time for the answer to how to consume the raw greens, have them taste really good, pre-digest them for easier assimilation, and eat lots of them?
Combine the green veggies in green smoothies (fruit smoothies with greens blended in) to sneak more into your daily diet. Also, chopping them in a blender will put the greens into a pre-digestive state, giving them the ability to be more quickly digested.
Use all green veggies, best choices being organic and locally grown if available. Grow beet tops, carrot tops, fresh parsley, dill, cilantro (my personal favourite aside from kale), romaine lettuce, spinach and others, providing they are dark green and leafy!
Plus putting more than just one green veggie in a smoothie will not pose a problem. OK, now go ahead and drink your greens and move towards health!
